Speaking to TOI, the victims father Keshav Malthankar said, "The students had organised the trip without seeking permission from the college. Apoorva did not inform me nor her mother about the trip".
Malthankar said, "My daughter was a budding poetess. She was soft spoken and easy going girl. She was fond of studies and had plans to make a carrier in interior decoration".
Malthankar who works in a jewellery shop has appealed to parents to strictly monitor activities of children going to colleges and collect information of what their friends were doing so that they do not take individual decisions like organising trip without consulting them.
"It is only the parents who can feel pain of losing their child. The parents should take a note of my appeal to avoid repetition of similar incidents in future", Malthankar added.
The victims elder brother Akshay said, "We have received a big loss because of Apoorva's untimely death. Apoorva had plans to obtain higher education abroad after obtaining a degree in commerce. She had won prizes in poem writing at school and college levels".
Akshay said, "My sister was very dear to my mother who received a mild heart attack after she came to know that her sweet heart was no more".
